A CASED 38-BORE ADAMS 1851 PATENT FIVE-SHOT SELF-COCKING PERCUSSION REVOLVER RETAILED BY DEANE, ADAMS & DEANE, LONDON, serial no. 4579.R, with 7 1/2in. octagonal sighted barrel, top-strap signed 'DEANE, ADAMS & DEANE (MAKERS TO H.R.H. PRINCE ALBERT) 30 KING WILLIAM ST.T LONDON BRIDGE', plain blued cylinder, border and scroll engraved frame, attached rammer, chequered walnut butt, border and scroll engraved trigger-guard and pommel-cap, the latter with hinged trap cover, and traces of original blued finish throughout, London proof marks, in fitted oak case, probably original, lined in green baize with accessories including Bartram pistol-flask, Adams 38-bore brass bullet mould, brass-mounted cleaning rod, turnscrew and nipple-wrench, the lid with reproduction trade label, the exterior with circular brass escutcheon.
