ANNEALING MADE PERFECT is designed to eliminate human error during the annealing process, giving you the confidence of accurate and repeatable results every time. The Annealing Made Perfect annealing furnace is ready to use right out of the box, with no need for external components. No tools are needed to use it, except for the specific shell holders (not supplied) to insert the case into the machine. A USB cable is also supplied. The new DB model now features a touch screen that makes using the annealer even easier than before. The touch screen is also user replaceable in case it gets damaged in the future. When software updates are available, the software can be plugged into the port on the left side of the annealing furnace to connect to your computer. The annealing furnace has preloaded programs for each case caliber. It is designed FOR BRASS CASES ONLY. Nickel plated brass cases may also be used. In general, the programs are based on three variables: caliber, brand, and neck wall thickness. Be sure to select the correct program for your cartridge. The two buttons located near the screen allow you to change the program number. A brass shell holder is provided to hold the case in place and prevent burns when removing it from the machine. A traditional press shell holder will fit over this. Bushings for all calibers from .222 to .50 BMG can be purchased separately. Power input The AMP annealer allows for universal power draw. This means it can operate anywhere in the world on any line voltage between 85V and 265V. It has a maximum power rating of 750 Watts, but will run at less than 600 Watts, or less than a small microwave oven. Cooling The output inductor features a custom-made ferrite core with an air gap designed to focus the magnetic fields. This means there is no work coil and therefore nothing to burn out or need replacing. Since there is no work coil, there is also no need for water cooling. The annealer's ability to operate for extended periods of time is partly dependent on ambient temperature. Avoid use in direct sunlight or high temperature conditions. An ambient temperature of 70°F/20°C is ideal. Thermal protection As with any induction heater, with prolonged use the output inductor will gradually heat up. Our annealer has multiple fans installed to keep the circuitry and inductor cool. After 40-50 cases have been annealed, the top of the unit behind the pilot will start to feel warm to the touch. This is normal. The MARK II annealer has self-regulating fans that will increase in power as the annealer heats up. In the event that the output inductor reaches 190°F/90°C (inside the annealer), a thermal cutout will activate to protect the unit. If this occurs, leave the annealer on so the fans can continue to cool. It will automatically reset after 30 minutes, once it has cooled down. Execution time Our new circuitry ensures that, provided the ambient temperature is around 70°F/20°C, the annealer can run continuously for a minimum of 200 cases on any program setting without coming close to shutting down. Many customers go much further. Safety AMP features a fully shielded enclosure. Due to the nature of induction, when the unit is powered, electromagnetic interference is produced. If left unchecked, this can affect other electrical devices, such as radios. For this reason, federal regulations apply. Our shielded enclosure and electrical filtering effectively block and contain all of these emissions. AMP has now passed all international EMC/FCC and electrical safety standards. The unit also features internal shielding enclosures to ensure accurate and reliable performance. Innovations The MARK II Annealer comes complete with our patented AZTEC mode that allows you to analyze your brass and generate the correct setting yourself. You sacrifice a case in the analysis process, the annealer applies the correct algorithm (derived from our extensive in-house metallurgical testing) and the correct annealing setting is generated for that case. No guesswork or trial and error. Uniquely, our induction annealing has adjustable power and time settings built into the pre-programs. This allows for small, very precise increments in the hardness of the annealed neck. When we set up the correct program for new brass in our lab, we start at the bottom and work our way up to the target hardness. We then publish these results (Legacy STANDARD mode) on the settings page on our website for the benefit of all AMP users. This is an ongoing effort made possible by the hundreds of samples we have received for testing. This is a free service that we encourage customers to use as it guarantees an accurate result. PILOT TO BE PURCHASED SEPARATELY. The kit includes: power cord brass handle dust cover Operator's Manual Dimensions W = 29cm (11.5″) D = 28cm (11″) H = 20cm (8″) Warranty until 11/2026.
